You could really feel the love at Andra and Mike's wedding in the way that their friends and family came together to make it happen. Leading up to the big day, Andra prepared hundreds of paper cranes that were visible throughout the venue to signify luck for the newly married couple in love. Everyone gathered for a mid-day ceremony and a lunchtime feast to celebrate these two. We are pleased to share images from the incredibly talented Promessa Studios. Andra did her own hair and makeup (!) at home and then met up with Mike at the Endicott Estate. While Andra put on her gown (which was handmade by her mother), we pinned Mike and the groomsmen with beautiful handmade boutonnieres, also made by the bride's mom. Mike and Andra had a "first look" on the stairs of the estate while the vendor team pulled all of the pieces together of the decor and layout. Andra and Mike had many personal touches in the decorations, including a ceremony backdrop made of hundreds of handmade paper cranes, representing luck and prosperity for the couple in their new life together. Guests had the option to take a polaroid picture on a Hello Kitty camera and paste it into the couple's Harry Potter-themed guestbook. They also displayed video and other games around the venue for friends and family to browse. Their ceremony was personal and meaningful, led by a friend. After the ceremony, guests mingled and enjoyed appetizers from B&M Catering. The best man, Long, acted as MC and introduced the couple intro the room, and they headed straight for the lunch buffet which had some delightful options, including the head from the pig roast! Guests enjoyed brief toasts from the bride's dad and the groom's dad on an audio system from A Taste of Music. Following the toasts, Andra and Mike cut their Konditor Meister cake and fed each other delicious mini pastries. Guests truly got a taste of Mike and Andra's love at this special wedding. Congratulations to the two lovebirds! #phamilyweddingfeast

We all know the classic wedding tradition “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”. Something old represents continuity; something new offers optimism for the future; something borrowed symbolizes borrowed happiness; and something blue stands for purity, love, and fidelity. The “something blue” tradition in particular can be a great chance to bring your imagination to life! We have come up with some fun and quirky ideas on how to incorporate blue into your wedding day! If you are searching for a fabulous beauty partner as you prepare for a special event, look no further. Darya Heras and the team at DH Estetica in Boston are experts in helping you look your best, including services in hair, makeup, skincare, lash extensions, and rejuvenation. DH Estetica is offering all friends and clients of Without A Hitch 20% off of any service for a limited time. Just mention us when you call or email to book. Eyelash extensions are one of DH Estetica's most popular services. Putting on a full set takes 1-2 hours and can completely change your look. There is no pain involved in the procedure. Check out their top tips for extensions: #1 More is BetterKeep in mind some of the lashes will most likely fall off within the first 2-3 days. Because of this, it is better to fill in as many lashes as possible even though this might look like too much for you. #2 Hands Off!Do not touch your lashes within the first 24 hours after the lashes extensions are put in! The rule of thumb: the less you touch/wash/rub/apply makeup the longer your extensions will last. Some of clients don't come for a refill for 5 weeks! #3 Water-Based OnlyMascara or eye makeup remover has to be water-based or else it will compromise the glue that holds the lashes on. No waterproof makeup can be used! #4 Brush RegularlyBrush your lashes every day so that they maintain their fullness and shape.
On the verdant grounds of Sebago Lake’s Camp Mataponi, Clara and Ilan tied the knot surrounded by friends and family in a unique celebration of love, creativity and, of course, organized group sports! In addition to orchestrating a stunning wedding reception, Clara and Ilan planned a three-day extravaganza filled with lakeside dinners, field day-style competitions, campfires and one of the most interactive Horas in Without A Hitch history! The captivating images below are courtesy of Lauren Ortega Photography. While Clara and Ilan’s guests enjoyed a little friendly competition to kick off the wedding day, the bride and her bridesmaids enjoyed a little pampering from the stylists and makeup artists of Jewlz Beyond Hair. Clara was radiant in her fitted lace gown, complete with timeless accents including a vintage floral hair pin and wristlet! Despite the light rain, there was no shortage of beaming smiles when Clara made her entrance on the arm of her father, Jorge. In a thoughtful and moving ceremony led by friends Chaz and Amber, Clara and Ilan pledged their commitment to one another in vows recited from an intricate Ketubah designed by the groom’s aunt. With a resounding Mazel Tov, Clara and Ilan were declared husband and wife! Following the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy an outdoor cocktail hour with sweeping views of Sebago Lake and tasty hors d'oeuvres courtesy of the awesome staff of Camp Mataponi. In a sneak peak of the incredible dancing to come, several guests jumped right on to the dancefloor to enjoy the musical stylings of DJ Mike from Party Excitement Entertainment! After being hoisted above their guests in an enthusiastic Hora, Clara and Ilan were also treated to a hysterical Leibadik, where guests tried to make them laugh using handmade props and costumes! The reception venue, with its remarkable wood ceilings and staggering views of the lake, was made even more breathtaking by the addition of the bride’s carefully-curated tablescapes. Each place setting featured a unique combination of vintage plate, wine glass and tea cup, all of which were collected by the bride over the course of several months! In fact, Clara’s incredible creativity was evident in every element of the day – from the hand-painted signs and hand-drawn camp maps to an unparalleled dessert table, no detail was overlooked! Thoughtful and humorous toasts, a packed dancefloor and a late night campfire ensured that Clara and Ilan’s “Summer Camp of Love” Celebration went out with a bang! We know this awesome couple will be enjoying s’mores together for many years to come!

We had a blast working with Amy and her parents on the preparation for her spring Bat Mitzvah celebration. Amy rocked it on the bema delivering her speech and reading from the Torah, and then she continued the theme for the afternoon luncheon and evening party. Check out the day with photos from Valencia Images. After Amy's morning service at Temple Shalom in Newton, guests moved across the hall to the social hall for a delicious luncheon catered by Blonde On The Run. The room looked lovely, with a slideshow of pictures playing for guests to watch, a sign in board with markers, and floral centerpieces from Busy Bee Florist. Each table also had smooth rocks and metallic pens for guests to write a note to Amy. Guests could also view a multi-color family tree that traced all the way back to Amy's great-great-great grandparents. Live music was provided by the Winiker Music. The musicians played a rousing "hora" dance and Amy was lifted in a chair, as were her brothers. While guests, Amy, and the family took time to rest and relax after the morning's events, we headed straight to the Wellesley College Club to set up for the party, transferring over all of the decorations from the temple. We also set up some great personal touches that Amy thought of at the venue, for example replacing all of the artwork on the walls with her own personal artwork and family photos. We put out favors at each place setting - chocolate Hershey kisses. And we made sure the outdoor patio was ready for the adults too. As guests arrived, DJ Paul Madden from A Goodtime DJs entertained Amy and her friends with games and music and lots of prizes. Adults and kids alike had the option to get a henna tattoo from Henna Designer Jumana Bootwala. This was a highlight for many people, including the Bat Mitzvah girl! After dinner, we heard a brief toast from Amy's dad, followed by a beautifully edited slideshow, told in the voice of the family dog. It was cute, funny, and very sweet. Amy then led a candle lighting ceremony, calling up groups of family and friends to light candles with her. Then the dance party truly began with adults and kids crowding the dance floor while the DJ kept the tunes spinning. Mazel tov to Amy and to her family on her accomplishments in becoming a Bat Mitzvah!
Summer is one of the most popular seasons for weddings! From beachside bashes to backyard barbecues, many couples want to have fun in the sun on their wedding day. Don’t let minor factors like bugs or rain keep you and your guests from enjoying the celebration. Here a few helpful tips, to ensure that your outdoor wedding goes off without a hitch! Rain or Shine One thing that a couple can’t control for on their wedding day is rain, so it is important to have a back-up plan. Although rain on your wedding day is rumored to be good luck, most couples hope for clear skies when planning an outdoor wedding. Most venues that offer an outdoor wedding space, also have an indoor space available that can be used for the ceremony, in the case of rain. If your wedding venue does not have indoor space, or you are planning a backyard wedding, consider renting a tent. Even if it doesn’t end up a raining, your guests can use the tent for shade! Bug Free The warmth of summertime also means that bugs are out and about, so you may get some uninvited guests the day of your wedding. Keep your friends and family comfortable by offering bug spray at your ceremony and reception. Incorporate a basket of bug spray and wipes into your ceremony décor for your guests to grab as they please. Candles are romantic and elegant, but also are great for keeping bugs away! Having a backyard bash? Line your yard with tiki torches for intimate lighting that will act as bug repellent! Stay Cool The summer, especially here in New England, can be very humid. It is important to keep guests as cool as possible. An idea we love, that is both cute and creative, is to supply guests with personal mini fans. Choose a color that goes with your theme! Or as an added touch you could even personalize them. Etsy is a great site that sells personalized wedding accessories. Click on the link for more inspiration! Hydrate With any outdoor bash in the summer, it is important to stay hydrated. A drink station is a cute and clever addition to a cocktail hour or reception. Your guests can help themselves to water as they please! Lemonade or iced tea are other refreshing drinks to offer. Add some fresh fruit or mint to dress up your drink dispensers! The exchange of vows is one of the most photographed moments of your big day. As you make your way down the aisle, guests will be admiring your dress, bouquet, and your ceremony décor. Decorated arches are trending at modern weddings! Your ceremony backdrop can be a beautiful focal point that reflects your taste and personality. From flowers to ribbons, the possibilities are endless. There are so many different wedding arches, deciding which one is for you can be overwhelming, so we have posted a few of our favorite styles as inspiration! Fabric Keep your wedding light and whimsical with a ceremony backdrop draped in a fabric. From tulle to burlap, choose a fabric that reflects your taste. Heavier fabrics are great for a rustic theme, while breezy, sheer fabrics are gorgeous for a boho style wedding. Flowers Anyone who has planned or been to a wedding knows that flowers are one of the key aspects to the decor. Why not incorporate flowers into your wedding backdrop?! Flowers not only look stunning but they smell great as well! Fresh flowers radiate positivity. What more could you want on one of the most important day of your lives? Drench a wooden or plastic arch frame in flowers for an elegant and fresh look at your ceremony. Wood A wooden arch is a must have at a rustic theme or outdoor wedding! What we love about a wooden arch is you can dress it up with both flowers, and different fabrics! Antique wooden doors can also be transformed into a gorgeous backdrop for your ceremony.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match any of these wedding arch ideas to create the perfect scenery for your ceremony! Check out our Pinterest board Aisles and Arches for more inspiration! Zahra and Max’s wedding at the historic Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation took place on a crispy, spring day in March. The museum served as the perfect backdrop for their wedding as its mission is to encourage and inspire; the obvious love between the couple inspired everyone at the event. We are proud to present Leah LaRiccia Photography photos that detail the moments of their beautiful day. The day kicked off with the wedding party getting ready at the Sheraton Commander Hotel in Cambridge followed by a first look photos on the museum’s bridge over the scenic Charles River. Zahra stunned in a beautiful pink ombre dress from Celia Grace, a wedding dress company all about responsibility and sustainability founded by a friend of the bride. Zahra's hair was in an elegant updo from Pyara Spa & Salon. After a ketubah signing ceremony inside the museum's Jackson Room, the ceremony began. The bride’s cousin played the violin to welcome guests into the space. Everyone watched as Zahra’s parents accompanied her down the aisle where Max waited under a floral chuppah, covered with a family tallis. The lights above were provided by Seacoast Events. Following the beautiful words of friend and officiant Mark, the guests flowed into the gallery space of the museum where they mixed and mingled among antique cars, clocks, typewriters and machinery from the Industrial Revolution. Chemistry glassware from Zahra’s grandfather held single blooms from Stow Greenhouses throughout the ceremony and reception space and added such a personal touch to the event. Emotional, touching and joke-filled toasts from both sets of parents, Max’s brother and Zahra’s childhood best friend left tears in many eyes. It was clear how loved the couple is. From the acoustic guitar during the cocktail hour to the live band during the reception, friends and family danced the night away to the sounds of The Common Good. The dancing picked up when everyone gathered on the dance floor to hoist Zahra and Max up on chairs for the hora and it did not stop until the last song – Home by Edward Sharpe – a fitting song for the couple. And of course, no party would be complete without a late night snack from caterer Season to Taste. The couple continued the party over burgers and nightcaps at one of their favorite Harvard Square haunts, Tasty Burger. Congratulations to Zahra and Max! Best wishes for a long, healthy and happy life together from Without A Hitch.
Sometimes we like to feature our favorite local vendors, and this week we have a treat for you: Wild Eye Photo Booth! In today’s technology-driven wedding industry and selfie-saturated world, you’ve probably experienced an open-air photo booth during someone’s big day. Anna and Jackie of Wild Eye Photo Booth are filling a new gap with theirs: a photo booth run by real photographers putting the art of the photograph and real guest experience first! These two met in art school ten years ago, and have been trend setting and honoring their artistry since. Both women are full-time commercial photographers as well, and bring their creative eye (and equipment, including professional DSLRs) to the wedding photo booth industry. You and your guests will feel spoiled like celebrities by all their professional attention and direction. It seems fitting then that they arrive toting a tagline of “Make Your Party Famous”, and deliver celeb-quality photos that capture your event’s vision with customized props and backdrops. Client privacy is also an important variable to Wild Eye’s service. Not every couple wants to immediately share pictures from their wedding day all over social media. Similar to lifestyle wedding photographers, Anna and Jackie give you the attention you deserve on your day, and the choice of what your guests share (or don’t). These two are ahead of a new trend in wedding photo booths, throwing away the tablet and replacing it with fun, creative, artistic individuals that can provide a real experience for you and your guests.

Kathy and Bob celebrated their wedding on the Friday after Thanksgiving, which meant that they were able to fill the room with family, friends, and loved ones. The wedding flowed beautifully; of course, it didn't hurt that there was a fabulous vendor and family team behind making the whole day possible. Check out the summary of the day below, with photos from Erik at Eskedal Expressions. The day started with getting ready at home and the bride's hair and makeup were completed by stylist Marina Melnikova. The celebration kicked off in earnest when the bride and groom arrived at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation for photos. Because Kathy and Bob each each have two daughters, and each of their daughters has a significant other, it was a whole family affair. Kathy's sister joined in the group photos too before everyone headed upstairs for a toast before the ceremony started. Crowds of guests gathered around as their officiant, Beth, led a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony that felt so personal to Kathy and Bob. Processional and recessional music was provided by Kiyoshi Hayashi from the New England Conservatory on violin. The bride and groom shared the moment with their daughters, including readings from a few of the girls. After the vows were sealed with a kiss, cocktail hour began with food from caterer Cuisine Chez Vous. While guests enjoyed food and beverages downstairs, we put the final touches on the Jackson Room upstairs to prepare for the main reception. Floral centerpieces were done through Cuisine Chez Vous, as were the beautiful linens and furniture layout for the space. Guests filed upstairs to see the space and, once everyone was inside, the bride and grooms' families were introduced into the reception, followed by Kathy and Bob themselves. Before dinner could start, there were toasts from the groom's brother, the brother and sister of the bride, the daughters of the groom, and the daughters of the bride. Dinner was served buffet-style while Kathy and Bob visited with their guests, and then they cut the beautiful cake. The dance floor opened with tunes from Beat Train DJ Nick Ferrington who filled the dance floor and kept it filled all night long. Guests danced the night away and Kathy and Bob basked in the glow of their new marriage with their closest family and friends. Congratulations you two!
There was no shortage of joy, laughter and, of course, love, when Sam and Paul tied the knot on a beautiful October day in the fall of 2015. Surrounded by friends, family and loved ones from near and far, the couple celebrated their commitment to one another in Boston’s historic Back Bay. The stunning images below are courtesy of Ashley Plante of Analog Wedding. Sam and Paul’s wedding day began with a moving ceremony in the awe-inspiring Lindsay Chapel of the Emmanuel Church on Newbury Street. The bride made her entrance on the arm of her father to a truly unique instrumental version of Beyoncé’s Halo, in a breathtaking full-skirted gown adorned with delicate floral embroidery and an elegant bow. Officiant and family friend, Joe Simpson led a heartfelt ceremony, including a final blessing for the couple before they departed for family photos in Boston Common. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a spread of Italian delicacies and signature fall cocktails on the rooftop deck of the Goethe Institut. A display of childhood photos, wedding portraits of the couples’ parents and grandparents, as well as a video of the couple’s many adventures were the highlights of the cocktail hour. The delicious Italian fare was carried through to the reception where guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet of classic favorites courtesy of a family friend who runs his own restaurant. Guests also enjoyed a delicious pie buffet later in the evening, thanks to the talented bakers at Lyndell’s. The reception décor echoed the beautiful and timeless details of Sam’s dress - from the hand-painted gold filigree signs to the stunning floral garlands incorporating red roses, hypericum berries and seeded eucalyptus, the overall effect was classic yet unique, just like the bride and groom! The venue’s many fireplaces were topped with collections of gold vases created by the bride’s mother and hobnail milk glass vases curated by the groom’s mother – the décor was a true family affair! In fact, the bride’s sister created a custom cake topper depicting the bride and groom and their two cats! Sam, Paul and their guests enjoyed humorous and thoughtful toasts from friends and family followed by an incredibly touching father/daughter dance and a lively, and equally moving, mother/son dance. Once the dance floor opened officially, bride and playlist-master, Sam, aided by emcees Haley and Aileen, had the guests on their feet all night! One standout song of the evening was the Frankie Valli classic, Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, during which the groom’s entire family danced around the newlyweds and sang along! The bride and her “Wellesley Girls” also took a moment away from dancing their hearts out to Madonna to snap a quick photo with the official Wellesley banner at the end of the night! We are so honored to have been a part of Sam and Paul’s celebration! We truly hope their marriage is filled with as much joy, laughter and dancing as we witnessed on the dance floor that evening!
Stefanie and Jesse’s October wedding at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation was a true labor of love – over 25 friends, family members and vendors came together to create a one-of-a-kind celebration that beautifully captured the couple’s vibrant and fun-loving personalities! The stunning images below are courtesy of Ben Schaefer of Silver and Salt Photography. Stefanie and Jesse’s wedding day kicked off with a beautifully-orchestrated ceremony in sun-dappled Landry Park along the banks of the Charles River. Despite the chill in the air, the bride was radiant in her elegant dropped-waist gown, fur wrap and floral crown as she processed down the aisle escorted by her parents. Acting as officiants, friends Lesley and Colin led the proceedings with humor and grace, incorporating readings and personal stories from friends and family members in a unique and moving ceremony. Of course, the absolute highlight of the afternoon was the exchange of thoughtful, handwritten vows from the bride and groom! The lofted reception space was a testament to Stefanie and Jesse’s creativity - from Seacoast Event’s amazing bistro lighting to the clever signs scattered about the room to the floral garlands created for each guest table by the groom’s family, no detail was overlooked! Beautiful place settings from New England Country Rentals were accented by napkins made by the bride’s mother and the custom table numbers featured photographs from the couple’s many outdoor adventures. Marquee letters were also used throughout the space to add additional personality to this unique celebration. Following the ceremony, guests were treated to delicious sweet and savory donuts courtesy of Union Square Donuts while enjoying Stefanie’s favorite 90’s smooth jams among the museum’s antique car and steam engine exhibits. The make-your-own dog tag hammering table was also a huge hit during cocktail hour. After sampling a donut or two themselves, the bride and groom invited their guests to tuck in to a family-style feast from Blue Ribbon BBQ followed by a scrumptious pie buffet featuring Petsi’s Pies. Premier Bartending was on hand to ensure every guest had a cocktail and plenty of cornbread! Before kicking off a lively evening of karaoke and dancing, Stefanie, Jesse and their guests enjoyed incredible toasts from friends and family, and perhaps most entertaining of all, a mic-dropping rap entitled “Blessed Union of Soul Mates” from an awesome bridesmaid!

“I adore the challenge of creating truly modern clothes, where a woman's personality and sense of self are revealed. I want people to see the dress, but focus on the woman.” –Vera Wang Sofia and Eric's weekend wedding festivities kicked off with a rehearsal and lively family dinner at Sofia's parents' house on Friday evening. The Middle-Eastern inspired eatery Sofra catered delicious platters of food enjoyed by the many members of all ages from both the bride and groom's families. The sunny, crisp October wedding day began with Sofia getting her hair and makeup done by Danielle Keefe. Preparations were fully underway with many smiling family members abuzz in Sofia's parents' spacious backyard, transformed into a rustic setting with a large tent fitted with cascading lights. The ceremony location was set adjacent to the tent on a grassy section of the yard facing the wooded area of the property. Buckets of blue and green hydrangea plants wrapped in burlap dotted the aisle and rustic baggies filled with petals were imprinted with the day's program. Eric's father's nursery, Ornamental Plantings, provided the tree hydrangeas and plant hydrangeas. Ilex Designs created romantic and whimsical floral arrangements of greens and pinks adorning each table, all surrounding a majestic central tree decorated with string lights in the center of the tent. Come wedding time, guests took their seats and the several young flower girls and groomsmen lined up to take their places for the processional. A true family affair, Sofia's uncle and cousin played the ceremony music on their keyboard and instruments. Each member off the wedding party walked down the aisle, followed by a gorgeous Sofia in a flowing white lace dress embellished with silk, ribbon, and sparkles. A beaming Eric met his beautiful bride at the end of the aisle where they were both greeted by the officiant - Sofia's brother, Jorge. He recited a creative and personalized wedding ceremony reflective of Sofia and Eric's warm personalities and deep intellect. He wove in anecdotes of their years long courtship, drawing both laughter and tears from the transfixed crowd. Sofia and Eric recited their vows and sealed the deal with a kiss, drawing a rapturous applause from the audience. Photographer Joyelle West snapped away, capturing candid photos of the blissful newlywed couple. Guests flowed into the tent and outdoors on the back patio for the reception. Mini succulents labeled with each guest's name served as the place cards, echoing the natural theme of the day. Small clipboards with wedding-themed coloring books and crayons kept the young children busy at the kids' table. As dusk fell, the string lights in the tent and on the trees illuminated the space. Season to Taste Catering provided drinks and appetizers as the live band, Hudson Band by Night Shift Entertainment, took their places and began playing hits and rhythm and blues from the stage. Guests enjoyed their dinner as family members toasted the new couple. Sofia's father George translated her mother's toasts into Spanish for the benefit of the Spanish-speaking guests. Eric's parents also toasted the couple in a sentimental, funny speech. Guess rejoined the dance floor for hours of dancing under the starlit tent. A sweet surprise - apple, blueberry, pear, and rhubarb tarts from the acclaimed Clear Flour Bakery - kept their energy going into the night. After much dancing, the guests prepared for a sparkler send off, turning the driveway into a glowing setting of sparkles and smiles encircling Sofia and Eric. The cake, an impressive tiered carrot cake baked by Sofia's mom using her famous family recipe, was cut and then quickly devoured. The evening did not end there - the energetic crowd took to the dance floor for many more hours - with a special delivery of Pino's Pizza at midnight. With an celebration concluded with cake, tarts, pizza, sparklers, live music, good friends and family, Sofia and Eric's life as newlyweds is off to a delicious and fun start! We wish them all the continued goodness for a lifetime of wedded bliss.
Kate and Nate put a lot of thought into every detail of their beautiful October wedding. From the heartfelt sand ceremony to the pizzas cooked on a food truck, every part of the day was thought out and planned for. It was our pleasure to work with Kate and Nate to make their day a success, so check out the pictures below from the ever-fabulous Leise Jones Photography! To start the day off, the bride and groom got ready separately and then made their way to Arlington Town Hall for a first look and group family photos. Leise got everyone in line and took the photos super efficiently, which left time for some amazing bridal portraits inside the town hall before the ceremony began. While they were taking photos, we worked with vendor team to make sure that every detail was in place. Posto Mobile set up their food truck and got the tables ready, Premier Bartenders set up the bars, and Derby Farm put out the beautiful centerpieces and delivered the bouquet. Kate and Nate put together a truly touching ceremony with the help of JP Liz (aka Justice of the Peace Elizabeth Gemelli). They walked down the aisle arm in arm towards their guests. JP Liz read some beautiful readings and the couple shared custom vows. They participated in a sand ceremony where they combined sand from three beaches that had a lot of meaning for their relationship. They also selected Kate's brother and Nate's sister to share readings with the audience. After the ceremony, guests cheered them back down the aisle and then headed inside town hall for the cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed food and beverages during cocktail hour in the Lyons Room and then walked into the beautifully set up Town Hall. They picked up their placecards and had the opportunity to leave a note in Kate and Nate's original guestbook; ink pads were set up for guests to leave their prints and a note. Kate and Nate joined the party for their first dance, and DJ Sara Williams filled the dance floor even before dinner began. Meanwhile Posto set up the pizza buffet and guests dug in. Following dinner were several personal toasts, including remarks from the groom's parents, the bride's parents, and the groom's son, plus a thank you from the bride and groom themselves. The dance floor re-opened and cupcakes from Party Favors were served. Time flew by and before we knew it, it was time for a very special exit. Guests grabbed special customized M&M favors on their way out, and then lined up on either side of the exit path from Town Hall. Kate and Nate exited their party to their guests waving mutli-colored glow sticks to celebrate the occasion. The bride and groom walked down Mass Ave and into their new life together. Congratulations, Kate and Nate! Thank you for letting us be part of this very special occasion.
When you meet Joana and Welitom, there is a feeling between them that cannot be put into words. It's clear that they are made for each other and their wedding absolutely reflected that. Many friends, family, and vendors worked together to make their day a success. Photos were captured by the talented Oliveira Studios. Joana, Welitom, and their bridal parties got ready at the Hilton Airport Hotel, while the bride's sister, Debora, and friend, Yolanda, put the finishing touches on the decorations at the venue space. The Bellevue Golf Club venue was completely transformed by the beautiful decorations from Debora and Yolanda, as well as the pieces rented from Rust and Luxe. When hair and makeup from expert Thammy Ellen was completed, the girls hopped in a limo and headed to Melrose. After a few final touch-ups, the ceremony began at the 18th hole overlooking the beautiful course. The timing was perfect; a stunning fall sunset was the backdrop for Joana and Welitom to say "I Do." Post-ceremony, guests headed inside for cocktail hour while the bridal party took some final photos outdoors before it got dark. Indoors, guests loved the DIY photobooth (including a rustic wooden door backdrop) as well as all of the Brazilian touches and treats available. The couple even had a signature drink: Sangria! As guests entered the main hall, they saw the stunning setup and the huge sweets table, a Brazilian tradition. The centerpiece was a cake from Bread & Company. The bridal party were introduced into the room by DJ Del, who got all of the guests on their feet for Jo and Wel's first dance. The team at Bellevue served a delicious meal, which was followed by toasts from the maids of honor, best men, and bride's mother, in both Portuguese and English. Then came a big surprise for Welitom: Joana had captured his mother and other family members on video since they couldn't be there on person. We queued up the video and Wel immediately was struck by emotion. Jo and Wel cut their cake, took photos with their guests, and filled the dance floor. They completed a special garter and bouquet toss before the night was over. Even when the party ended and guests departed, they were off to the afterparty to celebrate the couple's love late into the night. Congratulations Joana and Welitom... you are beautiful people who had a beautiful wedding!
Jordan and Don’s wedding at the historic colonial home, The John H. Pierce House in Lincoln, took place on a beautiful late summer day in August. With farm to table food, pink and peach color accents, and rustic décor, their seasonally inspired wedding drew from the transitional period between late summer and early fall in a classic New England landscape. We are proud to present this blog post with photos from I AM SARAH V Photography. Jordan and her bridesmaids, clad in hues of pale pinks, kicked off the day getting their hair and makeup done in nearby Concord. Guests gathered in the lush front garden sipping on lemonade and iced tea, eagerly anticipating the bride and groom’s arrival. Jordan appeared from the bridal suite wearing a vintage-inspired, strapless ivory gown sparkling with sequins. They recited their custom vows in the sunlight garden under the pergola that Don made by hand, with guests springing to their feet to celebrate their union in a sea of tears and applause. Guests made their way to the reception tent, adorned with long strings of lights that cascaded across the high peaks of the ceiling, casting a romantic glow over the dancefloor. Clusters of succulent planters, candles, lanterns, and antique gold and crystal vases filled with peach dahlias decorated the long tables. The flowers themselves were arranged by Jordan and her bridesmaids, and they came from Muddy Feet Flower Farm and the gardens of Jordan and her friends. The dinner menu was inscribed on clear gall frames on easels. Guests lounged on tufted pink velvet living room style furniture. Guests scattered on the sprawling green grass playing lawn games until dusk, including ultimate Frisbee, and croquet, and jenga, while the couple snuck away for a short photo session. Staying refreshed with mint mojitos and red sangria, they took their seats at long, reclaimed wood tables under the tent to enjoy dinner. The caterer, Saltbox Farm, served farm-fresh platters of seasonal family-style foods from farro and chickpea salad to summer vegetable succotash. After sunset, guests huddled over a fire pit on the lawn snacking on make-your-own s’mores. Plates of peach pie and a sampling of several delicately-detailed cakes from Jake’s Old Fashioned Cakes + Ice Cream, from carrot to white chocolate raspberry, flew off the dessert buffet station. Closing out the night, Jordan’s father and sister and Don’s brother offered thoughtful and funny toasts to the crowd before departing. We wish Jordan and Don all the best as they embark on their lives together!
Ashley and Alfredo's special wedding combined his Filipino heritage, her German background, and a whole lot of their effervescent personalities. We loved working with them on the planning process and being present on the wedding day to help bring their vision to life. You'll have to look at the fantastic photos from E.P. Widor Photography to see what we mean! The day started with the bride and groom getting ready at their separate homes. Ashley chose a gorgeous white dress with lace detail while Alfredo and his groomsmen donned traditional Filipino Barongs, a lightweight, embroidered shirt. Both got dressed and made their way to St. Joseph's Parish in Somerville to see each other for the first time as Ashley walked down the aisle. Ashley was walked down the aisle by both of her parents and then married Alfredo in a beautiful, traditional ceremony. The most non-traditional part of it was the pronouncement; after being announced as husband and wife, Ashley and Alfredo sealed their vows with their secret handshake before the big kiss! We love how it showed their sense of humor. They took some amazing group photos and portraits at the top of Prospect Hill before boarding the Above All Transportation bus to the reception. While the bridal party and guests drove from Somerville to the reception, we were onsite at the BSV (Boylston-Schul-Verein) in Walpole, pulling together all of the details. The BSV is New England's oldest German-American Cultural Club and has the perfect covered patio space for hosting weddings and events. The bride's friend Taryn Antoniou (the crab + the moon) put her design skills to the test by helping the couple think through all of the personal details that represented Ashley and Alfredo. Favors were custom decks of cards with Ashley and Alfredo's cartoon image on each card and the groom's cake was a giant shoe. The awesome team from Caterstaff was essential for the event setup and service and The Pig Kahuna catered the wedding with an on-site pig roast. The couple did their own floral centerpieces and brought in beautiful planters from neighboring Southridge Farm & Nursery. After everyone arrived and took their seats, Ashley completed our new favorite Filipino wedding tradition. She threw an apron over her wedding dress and used a machete to chop the head off of the roasted pig, with a little help from Alfredo of course. The bridal party was introduced into the party and the newlyweds got the party started with a first dance with music from DJ Dindo Delloson. Special parent dances followed, made especially significant because the couple chose to get married on Ashley's parents' anniversary. After a few toasts and a delicious dinner, guests were treated to cupcakes from Just Desserts and then the dance party really got started. Guests were invited to join in the Sayaw ng Pera (or "Money Dance") by paying a dollar to dance with the bride and groom - a long dollar dance means good luck for a long marriage! Guests joined for an anniversary dance and an awesome limbo. The party didn't end at BSV... it continued with the afterparty at a nearby hotel. We had so much fun with Ashley, Alfredo, their families, and their guests, and wish them all the best for a wonderful start to a long marriage! Congrats you two!

We were honored to celebrate with Patrice and Chris this summer as they sealed their vows at Commander's Mansion in Watertown. Read on to hear all about the beautiful details and to see stunning photos from Pizzuti Photography. The girls started off the day getting ready at the Sheraton Commander in Cambridge, with help from Latoya Dawson for hair and Makeovers by Ligia for makeup. Chris and the groomsmen arrived first at the venue aboard transport from Buston Attitude, which allowed time to take some fabulous boys-only photos. Patrice and her bridal party arrived next and took some time for finishing touches in the beautiful room that Commander's provides for getting ready. While the girls got ready, the boys played multiple rounds of the rowdy game "Heads Up!" in their room. Finally, Patrice and Chris were ready to see each other in an emotional, private first look. There was plenty of time for portraits and group photos before the ceremony. When it came time for Patrice to walk down the aisle with her parents, there was not a dry eye in the garden! The ceremony, officiated by family member and reverend Nelson Bernard Dorsey, Jr. was filled with personal touches, including a reading from Chris's sister and a lighting of the unity candle involving the couple's moms. After their vows were sealed with a kiss, the couple was ready to party with their guests! Everyone headed into Commander's Mansion for cocktail hour and it was right in time. As soon as all of the guests were inside, the summer evening thunderstorm began. Luckily, the guests were cozy and dry inside with music from Sounds of Success and food and drink from Capers Catering. The storm passed, and guests headed out to the tent, where they got to see all of the touching details that Patrice and Chris had thought about, including a candy buffet, stunning centerpieces from Karla Cassidy Designs, a sprig of rosemary on each place setting, and an awesome photobooth with fun props from XO Photobooth. After dinner and toasts, guests danced the night away with the bride and groom taking center stage on the dance floor! Thank you to Patrice and Chris for including us in your amazing day and allowing us to help make memories that will last a lifetime! Mara and Tim had a beautiful September wedding, with a ceremony at Portland Head Light in Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine and their reception at Grace Restaurant in Portland, Maine. It was an honor to be a part of their love story and we are thrilled to share the details of their day, accompanied by these amazing photos from the team at Captured in Moments. Mara started her day with some pampering, including hair from Kerry Cranton and makeup from Kim Schultz. Mara took her time getting ready and the results were fabulous! Then she made her way over to nearby Portland Head Light for her first look with Tim. Tim could not have been happier to see his bride at the first look! Afterward, the couple joined with family and close friends for portraits and took some amazing shots. Then they were ready to sign the Ketubah and start the ceremony. Guests gathered in a park overlooking the lighthouse and close friends and family held up the traditional Jewish Chuppah. After the glass was smashed to signal the end of the ceremony, guests cheered and all joined in for a group photo including the bride and groom. Guests then boarded buses to Grace Restaurant to get the party started. Grace was decorated with personal touches, including floral centerpieces made by the couple and a framed photo of their wedding date that guests could sign as a guestbook. Mara and Tim also put together a boat filled with local salt water taffy for guests to enjoy. Cocktail hour included a touching toast from the bride's dad, and then guests filed upstairs for some dancing. The bride and her dad surprised everyone with a choreographed dance to "Putting' on the Ritz" before the groom had an emotional dance with his mom. Then the floor opened up and everyone joined in for a rousing hora! Guests ate and danced the night away with Mara and Tim and tunes from DJ Numuzik. Our most heartfelt congratulations to the Goulds as they start their new life together! It was our pleasure to be a part of making sure your day went great.
