Emily and Shawn proved the old wive's tale true... rain on your wedding day IS good luck! These two tied the knot in Ipswich over the spectacularly dramatic Columbus Day weekend, and not even a hurricane could dampen their love. We are so excited to show off their big day shot by the fabulous Emily Tebbetts Photography. Emily and Shawn started the day separately with their bridal party and groomsmen helping them out. Emily was dolled up by Hair by Nei and Rachel Rassekh Dusoe before she put on her gorgeous buttercream taffeta dress. Les Fleurs dropped off white, pink and maroon bouquets for the bridesmaids before heading over to the Crane Estate to decorate for the reception. The men arrived at Sacred Heart Parish in Manchester-by-the-Sea early to shake some pre-wedding jitters, where Shawn was surprised by a notebook of love letters Emily had been writing to her future husband since she was in ninth grade....Cue the waterworks! The bridal party promptly arrived at the church for a traditional ceremony. The couple's families and bridesmaids processed down the aisle to music by Brandon Shah to begin the ceremony. When it was time for Emily to meet her groom at the altar, friend Nick sang a song Shawn had written for Emily while they were dating. We just can't get enough of the personal touches these two included throughout their day! After the ceremony ended, guests made their way over to Crane Estate for cocktail hour inside the historic Castle Hill property, where they were treated to magnet photo favors created by Magnet THE Event. Emily and Shawn ventured into the storm for some gorgeous portraits together outside and with their bridal party inside the mansion. These two made us wish every wedding was on a rainy day! The reception kicked off in the heated tent attached to the mansion with introductions and the couple's first dance. As dinner was served by Fireside Catering, guests were treated to heartfelt toasts from Emily's father, Shawn's best man - his father, and Emily's maids of honor. After the couple cut their cake, guests headed inside for an epic dance party, courtesy of Speechless. Emily surprised Shawn and their guests with a cigar bar, where cigars were hand-rolled on demand. It was a celebration to remember, and it was so them. Congratulations Emily and Shawn! We wish you two a lifetime of happiness and dancing in the rain.
