Heartfelt Vows: Zahra and Max

6/21/2016

Zahra and Max’s wedding at the historic Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation took place on a crispy, spring day in March. The museum served as the perfect backdrop for their wedding as its mission is to encourage and inspire; the obvious love between the couple inspired everyone at the event.  We are proud to present Leah LaRiccia Photography photos that detail the moments of their beautiful day.

The day kicked off with the wedding party getting ready at the Sheraton Commander Hotel in Cambridge followed by a first look photos on the museum’s bridge over the scenic Charles River.  Zahra stunned in a beautiful pink ombre dress from Celia Grace, a wedding dress company all about responsibility and sustainability founded by a friend of the bride.  Zahra's hair was in an elegant updo from Pyara Spa & Salon.

After a ketubah signing ceremony inside the museum's Jackson Room, the ceremony began. The bride’s cousin played the violin to welcome guests into the space. Everyone watched as Zahra’s parents accompanied her down the aisle where Max waited under a floral chuppah, covered with a family tallis.  The lights above were provided by Seacoast Events.

Following the beautiful words of friend and officiant Mark, the guests flowed into the gallery space of the museum where they mixed and mingled among antique cars, clocks, typewriters and machinery from the Industrial Revolution. Chemistry glassware from Zahra’s grandfather held single blooms from Stow Greenhouses throughout the ceremony and reception space and added such a personal touch to the event.  Emotional, touching and joke-filled toasts from both sets of parents, Max’s brother and Zahra’s childhood best friend left tears in many eyes. It was clear how loved the couple is.

From the acoustic guitar during the cocktail hour to the live band during the reception, friends and family danced the night away to the sounds of The Common Good.  The dancing picked up when everyone gathered on the dance floor to hoist Zahra and Max up on chairs for the hora and it did not stop until the last song – Home by Edward Sharpe – a fitting song for the couple.

And of course, no party would be complete without a late night snack from caterer Season to Taste. The couple continued the party over burgers and nightcaps at one of their favorite Harvard Square haunts, Tasty Burger.

Vendor Spotlight: Wild Eye Photo Booth

6/9/2016

Sometimes we like to feature our favorite local vendors, and this week we have a treat for you: Wild Eye Photo Booth! In today’s technology-driven wedding industry and selfie-saturated world, you’ve probably experienced an open-air photo booth during someone’s big day. Anna and Jackie of Wild Eye Photo Booth are filling a new gap with theirs: a photo booth run by real photographers putting the art of the photograph and real guest experience first! These two met in art school ten years ago, and have been trend setting and honoring their artistry since.
Picture
Both women are full-time commercial photographers as well, and bring their creative eye (and equipment, including professional DSLRs) to the wedding photo booth industry. You and your guests will feel spoiled like celebrities by all their professional attention and direction. It seems fitting then that they arrive toting a tagline of  “Make Your Party Famous”, and deliver celeb-quality photos that capture your event’s vision with customized props and backdrops.

Client privacy is also an important variable to Wild Eye’s service. Not every couple wants to immediately share pictures from their wedding day all over social media. Similar to lifestyle wedding photographers, Anna and Jackie give you the attention you deserve on your day, and the choice of what your guests share (or don’t).

These two are ahead of a new trend in wedding photo booths, throwing away the tablet and replacing it with fun, creative, artistic individuals that can provide a real experience for you and your guests.

Come check them out for free at the Boston River Run 5K this November 13th to see what they are all about. Be sure to mention Without A Hitch when you book to get 10% off your booking (cannot be combined with any other offer).
