Love & Donuts! Sam & Brad

Sam and Brad tied the knot on a beautiful blue-skied September day at the historic Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation in bustling Waltham, MA.  This charming couple planned a heartfelt and joyful celebration – from the one-of-a-kind ceremony to the incredible surprise Irish step dance, it was truly an event to remember!

Following a morning of pampering from Lamare Salon, the bride ventured to nearby Landry Park for a highly anticipated first look with her groom.  If Brad’s smiling face is any indication, it’s clear he shared our belief that Sam was a vision in her flowing lace-detailed gown and elegant floral hairpin.  After a few moments alone, the couple joined their wedding party for a laughter-filled photo session along the Charles.

Sam and Brad’s ceremony took place beneath a stunning rustic arch adorned with a lush floral spray from Still Flowers.  The ceremony, officiated by musical artist May Erlewine, was particularly moving – the couple had attended one of May’s performances on a date and had both enjoyed her music so much so that they asked her not only to officiate but also to perform their favorite song during the ceremony.  Between the moving personalized vows and the adorable flower girls and ring bearer who accompanied Sam and Brad down the aisle, there was no shortage of tears and laughter among the guests!

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to explore the museum while enjoying delicious treats from Cuisine Chez Vous.  Throughout the cocktail hour festivities, guests created custom dog tags at the museum’s stamping table, left heartfelt notes for the newlyweds in their guestbook and “punched in” at the time clock escort card display.

The reception design was both elegant and whimsical – the pairing of classic linens and silver-trimmed china with vibrant floral arrangements and rustic garlands truly complimented the unique industrial space.  Seacoast Events’s enchanting bistro lights lent a cozy and intimate feel to the large room.  Small details like the bicycle-built-for-two cake topper and personalized koozies added a touch of humor to the celebration.

Following a delicious meal and heartfelt and humorous toasts from friends and family, it was time to get the party started.  DJ Chris Paul from 617 Weddings had everyone up on their feet for the entire evening, with the exception of a short, though highly anticipated, break to enjoy dessert from Union Square Donuts.

As an added treat, Sam and Brad surprised their guests with an awesome traditional Irish dance.  The bride, along with her sister and brother-in-law, dazzled the audience with dramatic leaps and intricate footwork – good thing Sam was prepared with fantastic gold sneakers!  What the groom lacked in professional training, he more than made up for in enthusiasm and put a wonderful Irish spin on a traditional Macarena!

From their smiling faces to their fancy footwork, Sam and Brad seemed to radiate joy and love throughout their celebration.   We are honored to have been a part of their day and hope their next adventure will be filled with as much laughter, love and, of course, donuts!
