The Power of Pinterest

Recently, we've been seeing more and more brides using Pinterest as a resource for planning their dream wedding, and we can't blame them. If you're not familiar with the crafty, albeit addicting, website, Pinterest is a pinboard-style photo-sharing site that allows users to pin images onto their own personal boards based off of a variety of categories ranging from Home Décor and Photography, to Fitness and Gardening. Pinterest's Weddings category is arguably one of it's most visited tabs.

Meet The Pinterest Bride. She utilizes Pinterest as a tool to collect and sort all of her wedding day ideas into it's rightful categories. Wedding Flowers, Veils and Bridal Accessories, Cakes, Bridesmaids, Hairstyles, and, of course, Gowns, are all examples of boards that brides can create to organize their wedding day ideas. Pinterest serves not only as a resource but also as an inspiration for brides across the globe. The site also has a heavy focus on DIY projects for brides on a budget. These DIY projects include how to make your own wedding backdrop, wedding bouquet, centerpieces, and even how to do your own wedding day hairstyle – to name a few.

Some argue that Pinterest is to blame when it comes to the widening gap between bride's expectations and what their budget can actually afford (CS Monitor). However, we see Pinterest as a helpful tool, especially when brides take advantage of the DIY advice the site offers! Be sure to check out our Pin of the Day on Thursdays which can be found on our Facebook page, as well as our Pinterest page!

Are Flower Crowns Taking The Place Of Veils?

Not only does this whimsical accessory complete the music festival look, but it's also perfect for spring and summer brides. We're seeing more and more brides ditch the traditional veil and opt for a more boho-chic look with a flower crown.  Whether you prefer a larger-scale statement wreath atop your head, or a delicate baby's breath halo (my personal favorite), you can wear it with essentially any hairstyle. This is an especially great option for brides wearing lace dresses, as the flowers accent the lace pattern perfectly. Still want the traditional look? Try a flower crown wedding veil for the perfect hybrid of earthy yet classic!
