Jordan and Don’s wedding at the historic colonial home, The John H. Pierce House in Lincoln, took place on a beautiful late summer day in August. With farm to table food, pink and peach color accents, and rustic décor, their seasonally inspired wedding drew from the transitional period between late summer and early fall in a classic New England landscape. We are proud to present this blog post with photos from I AM SARAH V Photography. Jordan and her bridesmaids, clad in hues of pale pinks, kicked off the day getting their hair and makeup done in nearby Concord. Guests gathered in the lush front garden sipping on lemonade and iced tea, eagerly anticipating the bride and groom’s arrival. Jordan appeared from the bridal suite wearing a vintage-inspired, strapless ivory gown sparkling with sequins. They recited their custom vows in the sunlight garden under the pergola that Don made by hand, with guests springing to their feet to celebrate their union in a sea of tears and applause. Guests made their way to the reception tent, adorned with long strings of lights that cascaded across the high peaks of the ceiling, casting a romantic glow over the dancefloor. Clusters of succulent planters, candles, lanterns, and antique gold and crystal vases filled with peach dahlias decorated the long tables. The flowers themselves were arranged by Jordan and her bridesmaids, and they came from Muddy Feet Flower Farm and the gardens of Jordan and her friends. The dinner menu was inscribed on clear gall frames on easels. Guests lounged on tufted pink velvet living room style furniture. Guests scattered on the sprawling green grass playing lawn games until dusk, including ultimate Frisbee, and croquet, and jenga, while the couple snuck away for a short photo session. Staying refreshed with mint mojitos and red sangria, they took their seats at long, reclaimed wood tables under the tent to enjoy dinner. The caterer, Saltbox Farm, served farm-fresh platters of seasonal family-style foods from farro and chickpea salad to summer vegetable succotash. After sunset, guests huddled over a fire pit on the lawn snacking on make-your-own s’mores. Plates of peach pie and a sampling of several delicately-detailed cakes from Jake’s Old Fashioned Cakes + Ice Cream, from carrot to white chocolate raspberry, flew off the dessert buffet station. Closing out the night, Jordan’s father and sister and Don’s brother offered thoughtful and funny toasts to the crowd before departing. We wish Jordan and Don all the best as they embark on their lives together!
