Sam and Paul's Autumn Love Affair

There was no shortage of joy, laughter and, of course, love, when Sam and Paul tied the knot on a beautiful October day in the fall of 2015.  Surrounded by friends, family and loved ones from near and far, the couple celebrated their commitment to one another in Boston’s historic Back Bay.

Sam and Paul’s wedding day began with a moving ceremony in the awe-inspiring Lindsay Chapel of the Emmanuel Church on Newbury Street.  The bride made her entrance on the arm of her father to a truly unique instrumental version of Beyoncé’s Halo, in a breathtaking full-skirted gown adorned with delicate floral embroidery and an elegant bow.  Officiant and family friend, Joe Simpson led a heartfelt ceremony, including a final blessing for the couple before they departed for family photos in Boston Common. 

​Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a spread of Italian delicacies and signature fall cocktails on the rooftop deck of the Goethe Institut.  A display of childhood photos, wedding portraits of the couples’ parents and grandparents, as well as a video of the couple’s many adventures were the highlights of the cocktail hour.   

The delicious Italian fare was carried through to the reception where guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet of classic favorites courtesy of a family friend who runs his own restaurant.  Guests also enjoyed a delicious pie buffet later in the evening, thanks to the talented bakers at Lyndell’s.

​​The reception décor echoed the beautiful and timeless details of Sam’s dress - from the hand-painted gold filigree signs to the stunning floral garlands incorporating red roses, hypericum berries and seeded eucalyptus, the overall effect was classic yet unique, just like the bride and groom!  The venue’s many fireplaces were topped with collections of gold vases created by the bride’s mother and hobnail milk glass vases curated by the groom’s mother – the décor was a true family affair!  In fact, the bride’s sister created a custom cake topper depicting the bride and groom and their two cats! 

​Sam, Paul and their guests enjoyed humorous and thoughtful toasts from friends and family followed by an incredibly touching father/daughter dance and a lively, and equally moving, mother/son dance.  Once the dance floor opened officially, bride and playlist-master, Sam, aided by emcees Haley and Aileen, had the guests on their feet all night!  One standout song of the evening was the Frankie Valli classic, Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, during which the groom’s entire family danced around the newlyweds and sang along!  The bride and her “Wellesley Girls” also took a moment away from dancing their hearts out to Madonna to snap a quick photo with the official Wellesley banner at the end of the night!

​We are so honored to have been a part of Sam and Paul’s celebration!  We truly hope their marriage is filled with as much joy, laughter and dancing as we witnessed on the dance floor that evening!
