Nate and Dahlia’s elegant wedding was held at Commander's Mansion, a beautiful estate that dates back to the civil war era in Watertown, MA. From the sophisticated color scheme to the historical venue, this couple's big day was not only picture perfect but also filled with love and joy. We are proud to present this blog of their day with photos by Julie Lippert Photography. |
This day started off with the bride getting prepped and primped for the ceremony with the help of Carolina Velasco of Special Day by Carolina. The Jewish traditional ceremonies of tisch and bedeken took place. The tisch is an informal reception for the groom where all the men come to wish the groom well wishes. During the tisch, the engagement officially ends, and the groom and witnesses also sign the ketubah. The ketubah is the wedding contract which traditionally lays out all of the groom’s obligations to his wife, as well as how he must support her through life. A Bedeken is literally the veiling of the bride where the men all dance and sing into the bedeken room with the groom. It is a beautiful moment and you could see the joy on both Dahlia and Nate's faces as they saw each other for the first time all day. The ceremony was held outside on this lovely spring day with a white fence and blooming trees setting the tone for this classic event. Pink peony petals lined the aisle, complementing the deep pink bouquets by Watertown Main Street Florists. Dahlia’s stunning lace gown with a crystal, embellished belt was breathtaking as she walked down the aisle with her parents to her future husband. A lively cocktail hour followed the ceremony, with music by Behzad Dayanim of Berach Orchestra, while the bride and groom took photos together and with their families. The tent reception was gorgeous; the simple, bold color scheme of deep pink, white and touches of dark blue worked perfectly with the tent backdrop. The band played traditional Jewish wedding music, with some modern songs mixed in, and the couple heard heartfelt toasts from family members. We were thrilled to be a part of a wedding so chic and to be able to be a part of the happiest day of Nate and Dahlia’s lives! Congratulations to the Chertoks!
